Green, but not totally Grinchy

Today was a pretty crappy day. Just the usual Christmas crowds and hemorrhaging money kind of crappy day.

But then I went to the grocery store with the girls, and I scored a parking spot right up front without even trying. I told the girls, "Girls, you know what this means? It means it's going to be a good trip to the grocery store."

And it was. I got the last bag of dark chocolate and mint chips. Really, I don't think a trip to the grocery store can get much better than that.

A rose by any other name

The girls were asking me today what other names I had considered when I was deciding on names for them. Madeline thought "Ricky" should have been on the list of names for her. Amelia thinks we made a good choice for her name, but suggested "Bitsy" and "Starlight" should have been up for consideration as well.

Conspiring

I love these photos from Kalee's wedding. They just look like they're up to no good. And pretty pleased about it.

All the stockings were hung...

Christmas is in full gear around here. Tree is up. Lights are on the house (and functional--finally!). Leg lamp is in its prime location. Christmas tunes are in rotation. Gingersnaps have been baked, and eaten, and will be baked again.

Now we just need some snow!

No es bueno.

This fat boy is in the dog house.

Yesterday he knocked the lamp off the end table and did this to Kolby's "Precious." (His guitar).

It also scratched and dinged the front of his other beloved guitar. Cuteness only gets you out of so many capers. Willow is on the shit list today.

Rear Window

I'm a little obsessed with window seats now.

In other news: my final is on Monday, and then I will be 1/6th of the way through nursing school.
